Remnants of long extinct railways can still be found in Northern Chester County, in fact some of our most popular recreational trails used to be railways, like the Struble Trail and Chester Valley Trail. Have you ever wondered when they were built and who used the trains? Join the Friends of Springton Manor Farm when we invite Jim Sundman, author of "Pennsylvania Main Line Rail Stations: Philadelphia" as he traces the rise and decline of our local railways. The history of these train lines provide a glimpse into the industrial and commercial development of northern Chester County. The presentation will be followed by a brief Friends of Springton Manor Farm monthly meeting, the public is welcome to attend. The program will take place at Springton Manor Farm, 860 Springton Rd., Glenmoore, PA 19343 on Monday, April 2, from 6:30-7:30 pm. Please park in the first parking lot on the right when you enter the park, join us in the carriage house, the first past the parking lot.
